MAKING SURE EVERY CHILD STARTS SCHOOL WITH THE SUPPLIES THEY NEED.
While many of us are thinking about our summer activities, United Way is already ramping up for the 2024 BIG GIVE. The annual donation drives collects backpacks full of schools supplies to distributed to every elementary school in the area. Since Big Give launched in 2020, United Way has collected over 9,200 backpacks.
“We are always searching for ways we can connect families with young children to the community,” said Darren Bickel, President of United Way of Whitley & Kosciusko Counties. “Imagine showing up empty handed at school, only to discover caring people have brand new school supplies waiting for you. That’s what this community has been doing for five years.”
The 2024 Goal is to collect 2,000+ backpacks (100 for every elementary school in Whitley & Kosciusko Counties) by August 1st. United Way believes every child should start school with all the tools they need to succeed.
Our mission is uniting our community to create positive change. United Way of Whitley & Kosciusko Counties is a non-profit organization focusing on creating lasting change in Education, Income, and Health.
