Hundreds of Women Gather to Empower United Way’s Children’s Initiatives
This year, Power of the Purse hit new heights! Over the two nights, more than 300 women attended and raised more than $49,000! These funds provide much needed resources for our Children’s Initiatives
Women United continues to grow. This year was one of our most dynamic. Our volunteers logged more hours. Our events attracted the more women. And our impact on families with young children grew to new heights. You are a big part of that success.
At Power of the Purse, we shared some Milestones. ** Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library got a lot bigger, enrolling 700+ children in the first six months in Whitley County, connecting with over 2,300 children in Kosciusko County and overall enrollments crossed 3,000 children for the first time. ** Camp Hope connected with more children than ever, adding Saturday Camps to complement our Summer Camp. ** Schools United launches this fall at Lincoln & Northern Heights Elementary Schools. United Way will work with businesses & churches to connect volunteers with children in creative ways that overcome this crisis of loneliness impacting our children.
Thanks to all who attended, United Way will impact hundreds of families this year. By working together and engaging more women in our efforts, things are improving for all families with young children in our community.
Our mission is uniting our community to create positive change. United Way of Whitley & Kosciusko Counties is a non-profit organization focusing on creating lasting change in Education, Income, and Health.
